If you only learn one thing from me, let it be that you will never use an underripe banana unnecessarily ever again. If you’re making banana bread or a vegan cake you’ll need a really ripe one, if the banana is firm, your cake will be dry and tough and no one will want to eat it. Follow my pro tip to make sure that never happens!
Place your bananas on a baking tray in an oven preheated to 180c for around 15 mins or until brown all over and swishy to the touch.
Cool completely and peel.
