These sweet acorns are really simple to make and really cute for decorating cakes or cupcakes with.
A handful of almonds
50g dark chocolate (roughly chopped)
Crumble or cocoa powder for dipping
Start by melting your chocolate – either in a bain marie (glass or metal bowl placed over a shallow pan of simmering water) or in the microwave in 10 second bursts – being sure to check and stir the chocolate every 10 seconds!
Once melted, dip the large end of your almond in the chocolate just to coat it and shake it to remove some of the excess chocolate, then dip either in your favourite crumble (there’s a simple recipe here, just omit the pinenuts and bake it on a lined baking tray rather than on the fruit, I also added ground turmeric to my crumble for these acorns).
Alternatively just dip your acorns into some cocoa powder for a similar effect.
