Afternoon Tea at The Lane

From this October, we’re inviting you to be our guest at the most exciting new Afternoon Tea in the city. Inspired by the decadence and splendour of the Regency era, Tea at the Lane with Lily Vanilli will be hosted daily at the newly restored Theatre Royal Drury Lane .

“I wanted to design a tea that’s playful, fun and laden with things you actually want to eat. These are modern, delicious desserts, and we’re hosting you in decadent style at the most glamorous new venue in London.”

Expect towering cakes, glittering chandeliers, a trolley bringing you absinthe and mint chocolate chip ice cream by the scoop, flowing champagne, a fabulous terrace and the most stunning interiors.

Book in to enjoy delicate pink lemonade tarts with elderflower jelly, mini sticky toffee puddings with an oozing centre of custard and salted caramel, rich, dark chocolate sponge cake layered with caramel, buttercream and a biscuit crunch, topped with a hand-cast chocolate cherub.

You can also pre-order decadent whole celebration cakes made by Lily to take home with you.

Savoury bites will include madeleines topped with lapsang-souchong glazed salmon and pickled fennel, bitesize cannelés with whipped ricotta and pickled beetroot, and, of course, Lily’s signature puff pasty sausage roll made with Cornish sausage meat, roast bacon lardons and a cider vinegar deglaze.

Warm scones will be brought to the table with salted whipped butter, cream and homemade jam while you sip on Rare Tea Company teas and Taittinger champagne. 

To round things off, a trolley will roam the room, summoned table-side to serve Lily’s absinthe mint choc chip ice cream by the scoop
