Branston Savoury Picklebread men

We’ve been back in the kitchen with Branston this season and have come up with some wonderful savoury treats! These Picklebread men are a wonderful twist on a holiday classic!

 

 

Ingredients

 

 

Method

  1. Line your baking tray with baking or greaseproof paper
  2. Combine all the ingredients until they just come together to form a dough, make sure not to over-mix.
  3. Rest in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour
  4. Remove the dough from the fridge and when soft enough to roll, roll out to 3mm thickness
  5. Cut using a gingerbread man cutter and lay onto the baking tray
  6. Indent eyes, noses and buttons onto the men
  7. Rest in the fridge again on the baking tray for 30 minutes
  8. Preheat the oven to 180°C
  9. Bake for 15 minutes, or until fully baked and lightly golden brown
  10. Mix Branston Smooth Pickle with a beaten egg yolk and brush all over the hot Picklebread Men, you can apply two or more coats of the pickle glaze for extra pickle flavour
  11. Cool and serve
