A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to make a trip to Tuscany to take part in the latest Kaleidotour organised by Italian Eye.
The Kaleidotour is an opportunity for businesses and influencers alike to enjoy a part-tour, part-creative workshop holiday in beautiful surroundings and with plenty of incredible food.
I worked with the talented Emma from Palais Flowers we spent a very fun day filling a Fiat 500 with pretty flowers foraged from the Tuscan countryside.
With hawthorne, jasmine and lilac cascading down the three-tier cake and tumbling off the table we were really pleased with the results. Our cakes & flowers can be booked for Tuscan weddings organised by Italian Eye anytime of year, so book, up, we want to come back and go foraging again!
Another highlight included learning how to make cantucci with Fratelli Lunardi – a bakery which has been whipping up bread, cakes and savouries in Tuscany since 1966 – so we were in very good hands. Afterwards, I enjoyed the fruits of my labour with an espresso taking in the view.
I also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Tini Ferragamo aka the Chef on High Heels and cooking with her one evening at Borgo as well as working on another shoot at her family villa, Il Borro.
Finally, on the prettiest day of the trip I created a ‘pink tea’. Plates of blackcurrant & hazelnut friands sprinkled with pink sugar crystals, raspberry almond cakes and hibiscus shortbread were all decorated with pastel-toned flowers and juicy Italian sweets by Pastiglie Leone.
Such a brilliant trip filled with friends, food and flowers. Head here for more pictures.
